Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
Tidbits... This buttercream frosting can be transformed into the flavor of your choice. A couple of tablespoons of fruit, coffee, chocolate or liquore will create the taste you desire. There are so many flavor possibilities! My fotos are mango cream, strawberry and cappuccino...they were all distinctly different and delicious.
Ingredients
- Butter - 2 sticks unsalted (230 g)
- Powdered Sugar or Icing Sugar - 3 cups (360 g)
- Vanilla - 1 cucchiaino in liquid or 1 vanilla bean pod paste and seeds
- Salt - 1 pinch
- Cocoa or Coffee - 2 Tablespoons powder
- Fruit Puree - 2 Tablespoons
- Heavy cream - 2-3 Tablespoons
- Flavorings
- Mango Cream - 2/3 T mango puree
- Strawberry Cream - 2/3 T strawberry puree
- Cappuccino - 2/3 T ground espresso beans
Instructions
- Beat the softened butter on low speed at first, then increase to medium speed and continue mixing for another 2 minutes until the mixture starats to come together
- Add the heavy cream a little at a time, vanilla and salt and continue mixing on med-high another couple of minutes. Add cocoa, espresso powder or fruit puree at this time and blend until smooth.
