Chocolate Cake
Tidbits...This is my basic chocolate cake that I use for cake pops. It also is a delicious dessert cake with a light frosting, whipped cream or a powdered sugar veil.
Ingredients
- Cocoa powder unsweetened - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Butter - 1 cup softened
- Eggs - 3
- Milk - 1 cup
- Flour - 2 cups
- Baking powder - 1 tsp
- Baking soda - 1 tsp.
- Vanilla - 1 tsp.
- Salt - pinch
Instructions
- Sift dry ingredients
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat eggs and add to butter mixture.
- Add dry mixture a little at a time to butter, sugar, egg mixture alternating with milk.
- Lightly butter and flour a 9 by 13 inch cake pan.
- Bake for 40 - 45 minutes at 350˚ until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in center of cake.
