Tomato and Ricotta Sauce
Tidbits...This simple sauce is full of flavor and has a very creamy texture and compliments the homemade gnocchi.
Ingredients
- Tomato sauce - 2 cups
- Ricotta - 150 g
- Olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Fresh Basil Leaves - For garnish
- Salt - Pinch
- Red pepper flakes (optional) - 1/2 tsp
Instructions
- In a large skillet heat olive oil on medium heat. Add tomato sauce and cook for about 20 minutes until oil and tomatoes separate. Remove from heat and stir in ricotta until well blended and creamy. Add salt to taste and a couple grindings of hot pepper flakes..
