Iced Coffee
Tidbits...I remember as a young girl seeing the signs claiming the "worlds' best cup of coffee". I think they had never tasted "real coffee from Naples" In Italy as Giuseppe Verdi said "coffee is the balsam of the heart and the spirit". No matter where the saying originated, the great Neopolitan theater actor from the past, Edoardo De Filippo said it just right...speaking of Caffè..."Deve essere nero come il diavolo, caldo come l'inferno, puro come un angelo and dolce come l'amore." Translated ...A good coffee should be black like the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel and as sweet as love. It was once called the nectar of Constantinople when it was imported to Rome around the 1600's. Whatever it's "story" a good refreshing summer drink is this iced coffee.
