Apple Pie
Tidbits...As American as Apple Pie. This timeless recipe is always a favorite!
Ingredients
- Tart Apples - 5 -6
- Lemon - 2 T juice
- Cinnamon - 2 tsp.
- Brown Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Butter - 1 T
- Cornstarch - 2 T
- Nutmeg - Pinch
- Ready Made Pie Crust - 9 in. Double crust
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 425°
- Slice apples into a bowl and mix with cinnamon, brown sugar and cornstarch until well coated
- Fill empty unbaked pieshell with apples sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with butter.Put top crust over apples and crimp edges to form a tight seal. Cut 3 or 4 slits in top to vent during baking.
- Bake for 10 minutes then turn heat down to 350° for another 40 minutes until top is golden. Remove from oven and let rest uncovered.
- Serve warm topped with vanilla ice cream.
