Pumpkin Pie
Tidbits...Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie is "unthinkable" It is the grande finale to this wonderful holiday!
Ingredients
- Pumpkin puree - 2 cups (500 g) cubed and steamed
- Eggs - 2 large
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- vanilla yogurt - 125 g
- whole milk or milk/cream mix - 1/2 cup
- Cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- Ginger - 1/2 tsp.
- Allspice - 1/2 tsp.
- Nutmeg - dash of freshly ground
- Salt - pinch
- Pie Crust - 9 inch pie shell
- Pastry decorations - 9 inch shell
Instructions
- Steam cubed pumpkin in 2 Tbl. water, let cool and purèe
- Add eggs, sugar, yogurt, cream then spices. Pour into pie crust.
- Bake at 425˚ for 15 min. then lower to 350˚ for an additional 50 minutes .
- Bake decorations separately until golden and place over pie.
